Wappingers Hit-and-Run Under Investigation

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on April 9th, 2025, at around 11:43pm in the Town of Wappinger.  The crash involved a motorcycle that struck a female pedestrian, causing personal injury to the pedestrian.  The female pedestrian was struck by an unknown black motorcycle that fled from the scene.  

The rider was described as wearing a black “puffy” jacket, as well as a black helmet.  It is believed that there was at least one other motorcycle travelling with the motorcycle in question who struck the victim.  The female pedestrian was hit along the southbound shoulder of Spook Hill Road, south of Myers Corners Road.  The female pedestrian sustained significant injury to her upper left arm and lower leg due to the contact with the motorcycle and its’ rider.  The motorcycles were last seen heading southbound on Spook Hill Road.

Currently, the victim’s name is being withheld while the accident remains under investigation.
