The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force reports the arrest of Eugene Taylor age 55, on two separate dates following an investigation into the distribution of narcotics and dangerous drugs in the Town of Poughkeepsie area.

Drug Task Force Agents identified a narcotic and dangerous drug dealer, formerly from the City of Beacon, selling cocaine out of his residence on Woodcliff Ave which is located in close proximity to the Holy Trinity Elementary School, a Catholic School in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Drug Task Force Agents began conducting numerous narcotic transactions with the defendant over a period of time which resulted in obtaining a search warrant for his residence.
On 06/01/26 Drug Task Force Agents located the defendant on Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie and arrested him without incident. Shortly after, Drug Task Force Agents assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department executed the search warrant at his residence. The search warrant resulted in Drug Task Force Agents seizing a large quantity of cocaine, packaging, scales, and ammunition inside the residence. In addition, a shotgun was located in the defendant’s possession that he was not legally permitted to possess or own pursuant to New York State law. The defendant was charged with the following:
The defendant was later arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and released pursuant to law. Multiple charges are still pending against the defendant that include Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance.
Shortly after, the defendant was released from custody as ordered by the court. The Drug Task Force obtained information that he was attempting to purchase large quantities of narcotics to start distributing to the public again, despite being apprehended by the Drug Task Force on 06/01/26. The Drug Task Force immediately began purchasing narcotics from the defendant, leading to a second search warrant being obtained for a search of his residence.
On 06/19/2026 members of the Drug Task Force assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office ESU team (SWAT) and the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT team executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence resulting in the seizure of additional cocaine packaged for sale, packaging, ammunition, scales and U.S. Currency. The defendant was charged with the following additional counts:
The defendant was later arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and was remanded into the custody of the Justice and Transition Center (formerly known as the Dutchess County Jail) as allowable by NYS law. Multiple charges are still pending against the defendant that include Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “The allegations in this case are deeply troubling. According to the investigation, the defendant was selling narcotics from a residence located near an elementary school, placing dangerous narcotics activity in the immediate vicinity of children and families. Drug trafficking does not exist in a vacuum, it brings with it violence, firearms, addiction, and the destruction of lives and neighborhoods. When those activities occur near a school, the threat to public safety is even greater. Equally concerning are allegations that, even after his initial arrest, the defendant attempted to continue directing and facilitating narcotics trafficking activities. Such conduct demonstrates a blatant disregard for the law and an ongoing threat to the safety of our community.”
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations, and those named are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
