Sheriff’s Office Police Academy to hold Graduation Ceremony

Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Zone 14 Law Enforcement Academy, which is located at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, will be graduating its current class on October 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, and is the final step for police recruits after 24 weeks of demanding classroom and practical training.

A total of 17 recruits from the following police agencies will graduate and take their oath: the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office (15), the City of Poughkeepsie Police (1), and the Town of Kent Police (1). Distinguished guests will include Sheriff Anderson and Under Sheriff Imperati of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Ron Knapp of the City of Poughkeepsie Police, Chief Alexander DiVernieri of the Town of Kent Police, Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro, Dutchess County District Attorney William Grady, Dutchess County Clerk Brad Kendall, Dutchess County Legislator/Chairman of the Legislature Rob Rolison, and Dutchess County Medical Examiner Dr. Kari Reiber. The oath will be administered by the Hon. Joseph Egitto, and the Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes and Drums will open the ceremony.
