Felony drug arrest in Wappinger

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of James Telesco, age 25 of Ridgefield CT, for felony drug possession at approximately 7:00 pm on 2/4/14.

On the above date & time Mr. Telesco was stopped by Deputies for traffic violations on Myers Corners Rd in the Town of Wappinger, and during the traffic stop/interview he was found to allegedly be in possession of a white powdery substance. The substance was discovered to be cocaine, and Mr. Telesco was subsequently charged with the following:

• Criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree: Class D felony

• Aggravated Unlicensed Operation: Misdemeanor (Driving with a suspended license)

• Failing to signal: Traffic infraction

• Failing to keep right: Traffic infraction

After being processed Mr. Telesco was arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. As with any criminal case, the charges described here are simply allegations and Mr. Telesco is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
