The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Byron O. Grant (29 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd a class B-felony after he was stopped by a deputy sheriff for traffic violations on State Route 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie at 2:45 pm on 3/18/14. After being stopped, Grant was found to be in possession of a large quantity of heroin, prescription drugs and marihuana as well as a large quantity of cash and Drug Paraphernalia. Members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force assisted with the arrest.
Byron Grant was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County jail on bail to appear back in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on April 1, 2014 at 4:00 pm.
As with any criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
