The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation into a one-car fatal auto accident, which occurred on State Route 9G near Kidd Lane in the Town of Red Hook at approximately 11:15 pm on 4/30/14. The operator & sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, and she has been identified as Amanda Timbrouck (age 30 of Kingston NY).

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the operator was traveling southbound on 9G in a 2000 Toyota Solara, when she lost control of the vehicle approximately 1000 feet north of Kidd Lane. The vehicle then went into a sideslip, exited the roadway, and struck a tree on the western shoulder. At this time it appears that unsafe speed is a factor in the crash, however the investigation into the cause(s) is continuing.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Village of Red Hook Police, and the Tivoli Fire Department. The investigation is continuing by members of the Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit, and more information may be released as it becomes available.
