Man wanted for murder in New Jersey arrested in Poughkeepsie

On April 15, 2015 members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and City of Poughkeepsie Police Department assisted members of the New Jersey FBI Violent Crime Task Force and the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force in executing a New Jersey Arrest Warrant for Murder, Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon with intent to use against another and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon upon Mikey Miguel Williams, 32 years old. The warrant was issued on March 3, 2015 by the Newark City Court, Essex County, NJ.

Williams is accused of murder and attempted murder in Newark, NJ on February 9, 2015. Williams was located by law enforcement at 365 Mansion Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. During his arrest, Williams was found to be in possession of a .45 caliber stainless steel semi-automatic handgun which contained 7 live rounds. The handgun was found to be reported stolen out of Virginia on November 11, 2014.

Williams was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree (class C Felony) by the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. He is to be arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court for the Weapons Possession charge as well as a Fugitive from Justice from New Jersey. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
