The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of three people in connection with alleged credit card fraud that took place at multiple locations throughout Dutchess County dating back to February 11th of this year.

Approximately two weeks ago the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau began investigating several cases of reported credit card fraud, and as a result of the investigation the three people listed below were arrested on 4/6/17. All three are accused of coding blank credit cards with stolen information, and then using those credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at various stores. The equipment used to code the credit cards, the blank credit cards themselves, and the stolen information were all acquired online. At this time the amount of stolen property totals over $8,000 and is expected to increase as the investigation continues and more victims are discovered. The identities of the three are as follows:

  1. Chavon C. Cotterell, age 24 of Poughkeepsie
  2. Aldasia I. Brown, age 17 of Poughkeepsie
  3. Tionne S. Stroman, age 17 of Poughkeepsie

All three have been charged with (A) Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree, (B) Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, and (C) Identity Theft 2nd Degree. All of the charges are felonies, and after being processed all three were released on appearance tickets to reappear before the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on 4/25/17. The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible at a later time.
