Treybich Confirmed as Counsel to the Dutchess County Legislature

At the body’s January Organization Meeting, the Dutchess County Legislature confirmed Michael Treybich, Esq. as Counsel to the Dutchess County Legislature. Pursuant to the County Charter, the position of Legislative Counsel is appointed by the Chairman and confirmed by the full Legislature. Treybich is an attorney in private practice in the City of Poughkeepsie. Michael Treybich said, “it is my honor and privilege to put my skills to use on behalf of the Dutchess County Legislature and to serve the people of Dutchess County, my home.”

Chair Yvette Valdés Smith said, “Michael Treybich has the experience and deep legal expertise that is essential for the role of legislative counsel. In addition to his extensive knowledge and skills, he is also incredibly well respected in our community. Mr. Treybich will serve the Dutchess County legislature well, and we look forward to working with him.”

Michael Treybich’s 17 years of experience as an attorney includes acting as parliamentarian for and representing dozens of companies, condominium and coop boards in their governance, running annual meetings, and their commercial lawsuits; and municipalities, elected officials and candidates in election law matters. Michael's clients have trusted him to deliver results in million dollar commercial cases and he has successfully sued and defended lawsuits by mortgage lenders and insurance companies who failed to meet their obligations.
