Following an announcement shared on his social media channels, Dutchess County Legislator Eric Alexander (D-District 25) is releasing details about his upcoming Affordability Fair at the Amenia Town Hall on September 17, 2026. At the Affordability Fair, supported by many local elected officials including Chair of the Dutchess County Legislature, Yvette Valdés Smith, “local residents can sign up for free home delivery of hot meals, get help reducing their utility bills and ensuring their home are properly insulated, and countless other free services/programs offered by county and state governments,” said Legislator Alexander.

“Elected officials must do more than just talk about affordability. We must deliver to our constituents the full range of free and money-saving services and programs available through county and state government, as well as helping them access the discounts and savings from the utility providers we regulate.”

“I’m thrilled to support Legislator Alexander on this endeavor,” said Chair Valdés Smith (D-Fishkill). “Accessing these services or knowing how to access them isn’t always straightforward. At the Affordability Fair, residents will have a one-stop shop opportunity to learn about and register for many of these services. This has been a bipartisan collaboration, with Legislator Alexander leading the way that empowers and educates. I hope to see the Fair packed with people on September 17th.”

Representatives from the offices of the Dutchess County Legislature, State Senator Michelle Hinchey, Assemblyman Anil Beephan, the Dutchess County Office of the Aging, the Cornell Cooperative Exchange, the Dutchess County Office of Veterans Affairs, and various local businesses are expected to join that day.

The Affordability Fair will be held at the Amenia Town Hall on Thursday, September 17th.
