The Dutchess County Office For The Aging offers a wide variety of services to meet the nutritional needs of persons 60 years and older. Services include congregate meals at senior friendship centers, home delivered meals for the homebound, nutrition education and counseling, picnics during the summer, and health promotion events. (Note: during the COVID-19 outbreak, New York State has temporarily expanded Home Delivered Meals (HDM) eligibility for seniors. Click here for more information.)
Senior Friendship Center (Congregate Sites) - For those seniors who wish a tasty, nutritious meal combined with social activities and fellowship, most of the eight senior friendship centers are open Monday through Thursday, with transportation available for center members in most cases. (Note: due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, all Senior Friendship Centers are closed to the public until further notice, and are being used as HDM delivery hubs.)
The City of Poughkeepsie, City of Beacon, East Fishkill and Red Hook sites are also open on Fridays. The Pawling Center is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.
Sites are located in the City of Beacon, City and Town of Poughkeepsie, East Fishkill, Millerton, Pawling, Red Hook, and South Amenia.
In the event of weather-related disruptions to HDM deliveries, announcements will be made on area radio stations.
