The Dutchess County Comptroller’s Office has completed its audit of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County (CCEDC) for the period January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2023. This is the first audit of Comptroller Aymar-Blair's tenure with Dutchess County.

Cornell Cooperative Extensions have a presence in all New York counties and offer a variety of educational programming related to agriculture, nutrition and health, youth and families, energy efficiency, and community development. Dutchess County provided approximately $2.6 million in funding to CCEDC between 2021 and 2023. CCEDC reported a profit deficit in 2022 and 2023, creating some financial strain on the organization, the results of which are touched on in the findings of this audit.

“Cornell Cooperative Extension has performed to the best of its ability during a challenging time,” said Comptroller Aymar-Blair. “They acknowledged the findings we identified during our audit, some of which included over payments by the County, and have moved forward with applying the recommendations made by the Comptroller’s Office.”

The Comptroller’s Office is appreciative of CCEDC’s cooperation during the preparation of this report. Added the Comptroller, “Taxpayers can be confident that their dollars are going to a transparent and well-intentioned partner helping to strengthen communities in every corner of Dutchess County.”
