Poughkeepsie...The Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency’s next Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics Recycling and Medications Disposal Event will be Saturday, August 2nd from 7:30 am to 9:00 am at 96 Sand Dock Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. The event will also include safe disposal opportunity for unwanted or expired medications.
The DCRRA’s disposal events are a safe and responsible way to discard a wide range of household items such as varnish, paint strippers, unwanted electronics, florescent bulbs, pesticides, and more. All disposal events held at the DCRRA’s Poughkeepsie site include the opportunity to safely dispose of pharmaceuticals. County Executive Molinaro notes, “Take the time to clear out your medicine cabinet of expired or unneeded prescriptions and other medications. This is an important prevention step to protect your family from possible drug misuse or abuse.”
A complete list of accepted material is included below. Pre-registration is required and there is a $5 fee. Call the Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency at (845) 463-6020 or visit http://www.dcrra.org/ to pre-register and schedule an appointment.
