Poughkeepsie…The Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response (DCER) has been notified that Verizon Wireless customers can now connect with Dutchess County 911 dispatch in the event of an emergency. Service has been tested and is fully restored.
Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response is working closely with Verizon Wireless to identify the cause of the service disruption that impacted several local 911 dispatch centers in the state. County officials are also working with Verizon Wireless to address how the company can better notify its customers should a similar issue arise in the future.
