“As we head into the Labor Day holiday weekend, we celebrate the values of hard work and achievement that embodies the American worker. I offer a special thank you to the dedicated employees of Dutchess County Government who come to work each day in public service for the residents of Dutchess County. A dedication to public service means many county employees, rather than celebrating Labor Day with family and friends, will be answering 911 and HELPLINE calls, responding to emergencies and making sure children are safe.

These are challenging times for all of us and I am grateful for the dedication of county employees who continue to strive to do more with less, seek ways to be creative and innovative to get the job done in service to our residents.

This holiday weekend is a great time to enjoy all Dutchess County has to offer including our wonderful county parks. Enjoy a day at the lake at Wilcox Park, fun at the playgrounds at Bowdoin or a peaceful picnic at Quiet Cove Riverfront Park. This Labor Day, I wish all Dutchess County residents a happy, safe and relaxing holiday.”
