POUGHKEEPSIE ... The Dutchess County Transportation Council (DCTC) will host a public meeting on Thursday, August 6, at 1:30 pm at the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home, 4079 Albany Post Rd (Route 9) in Hyde Park. At the meeting, the DCTC is expected to act on its latest update to “Moving Dutchess Forward,” its 25-year plan to make the County’s transportation system safer and more reliable.
“Moving Dutchess Forward” looks at the ways people and goods move about the County, evaluates future trends, assesses transportation barriers, and recommends actions and investments to create a safer, more reliable transportation system for all residents and visitors. It includes a financial plan with anticipated federal funding that supports a set of investment priorities that address broad state of good repair goals for our system (e.g., maintaining road and bridges, reducing crashes and congestion, maintaining transit services, etc.). It also includes a short list of more transformative, unfunded illustrative projects. A fully digital product, “Moving Dutchess Forward” is flexible and interactive, with maps and visuals so readers can easily understand ideas and information.
