Re: Dutchess County Executive’s Annual Report for 2012 & 2013 State of the County
Pursuant to the Dutchess County Charter, filed herewith is the County Executive’s written report of the finances and activities of County Government for the year 2012. The contents of this document were presented to you at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House at 5:30pm on Thursday, January 30th.
Also contained within this report and incorporated into the presentation are short-term and long-term objectives for 2013 and beyond. This Administration has begun the multi-year transformation of County Government with the end result being a fiscally stable and efficient organization that delivers effective services and programs to the people it serves. We accomplish this transformation by focusing on the essential problems at hand, being as inclusive as possible with all of our stakeholders, using logic to do what makes sense, and ensuring fairness in all our decisions. I ask that the Legislature join me in reaffirming our commitment to this decision making process and to the goals of our multi-year transformation.
Lastly, as you consider this document and my presentation, I ask that you imagine. Imagine what it is we can do, together, and avoid focusing on what it is we can’t do. Find what it is that inspires you, create a vision for our future, trust in our decision making principles, and be a part of this transformation that will make Dutchess County a better place to live and work.
Thank you.
