Poughkeepsie, NY – The Dutchess County Legislature recently launched a Facebook page in order to better reach their constituents. The page’s name is “Dutchess County Legislature” and can be found at or through the search bar.

As the elected body representing Dutchess County, Chairman Gregg Pulver felt strongly that communication and exposure is vital to transparency. “The people deserve an open and transparent government,” said Chairman Pulver. “Dutchess has roughly 300,000 residents and only a handful visit our website. We must be open and accountable to our constituents and that means being where they are- on social media.”

“Sustaining an open line of communication with all of our residents is an incredibly important measure to maintain transparency and improve the effectiveness of our work in the Legislature,” said Legislator Will Truitt who has maintained an active Facebook page for several years. “I am looking forward to continuing our dialogue and strengthening the Legislature’s communication with Dutchess residents through social media.”

The page will be posting meeting agendas, committee work, pictures from events, among other things. Please consider liking and following our page to stay up to date on the Legislature’s work.
