The Dutchess County Tick Task Force announced today that they will again team up with Senator Serino to host a panel discussion to engage our residents in awareness and protection against this debilitating disease. The event will be April 26 at the Beacon High School Theatre, 101 Matteawan Road, Beacon, New York, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Chairperson for the Dutchess County Tick Task Force, Legislator Donna Bolner, commented, "I am happy that Brian Fallon will be presenting this year on his most recent work. This satisfies one goal of mine, which is to keep residents up to date on tick borne disease developments."
Tick Task Force, together with the Department of Behavioral and Community Health, also hosted a “Be Tick Free” media contest open to middle and high school students with the goal for students to learn how to prevent Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, and then use their digital media skills to teach others what they have learned. This year’s winners have been selected and will be commended at the May 14, 2018, Legislative Board Meeting.
Legislator Donna Bolner and the Tick Task Force are committed to efforts in prevention and education regarding negative effects of the tick population. For more information, residents may contact the Dutchess County Legislative office at 486-2100.
