When you or someone you care about is experiencing, or close to experiencing a mental health crisis or substance use issue, come to the Stabilization Center. Located at 230 North Road, the Center is a safe, welcoming place for Dutchess County residents of all ages who are dealing with:

We also offer walk-in naloxone (Narcan) training for opioid overdose prevention. If you need immediate training, please come to the Stabilization Center, 230 North Road, in Poughkeepsie, any time of day or night. Someone will train you immediately. No appointment needed.
Using the Stabilization Center is 100% voluntary, and no one is ever denied service based on lack of health insurance or inability to pay. Walk in anytime to the Center at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie, or call HELPLINE at 845-485-9700 for more information.
The Mobile Crisis Intervention Team includes caring mental health professionals who can go directly to a person in crisis to help prevent a situation from getting worse, see what the person needs, and connect them to services that can help them right away.

You do not have to accept any referrals or resources offered.

Your use of the Dutchess County Helpline Texting Service does not create a legal confidential relationship. Examples of a legal confidential relationship include, but are not limited to, licensed doctor-patient or licensed therapist-patient. The Dutchess County Helpline Texting Service is not a substitute for professional health care.

Some of the above behaviors are crimes depending on your location or the location of the counselor. Dutchess County Helpline takes these offenses seriously. If they continue after you’re asked to stop, staff may contact police.
