Poughkeepsie … Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health (DBCH) is pleased to announce additional drowning prevention seminars have been added to the schedule to meet public demand. With summer around the corner, there is still an opportunity to attend one of our free classes offered throughout the county at various locations and times.
These presentations offer guidance for supervising swimmers and an informative video on recognizing signs of a swimmer in distress. Additionally, there will be a time to discuss lifeguard duties and responsibilities as they relate to DBCH regulations. These seminars are open to lifeguards and persons who have supervisory responsibilities, as well as anyone who is interested in increasing their knowledge of this important public health concern. All who successfully complete the program will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
