Timothy Alexander sentenced to 25 years to life for murder of ex-wife

On June 28, 2021, Judge Jessica Segal imposed the maximum sentence allowable under the law, 25 years to life, on Timothy Alexander for his April 29, 2021, conviction for Murder in the Second Degree, following a three week jury trial. Alexander was convicted for brutally murdering his ex-wife, Terrie DeGelormo, as she shoveled her driveway during a blizzard on November 15, 2018.

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office would like to recognize those members of the New York State Police who worked tirelessly to bring this defendant to justice.

The case was prosecuted by Bureau Chief Kristine Whelan and Senior Assistant District Attorney Lindsey Richards of the Special Victims Bureau.
