The Fire Police Response Team is available to local fire chiefs who face large scale or long-term events when the local resource of fire police is limited.
Their mission is to supplement the forces needed to ensure scene safety, control and direct citizens and traffic away from hazards, and assist law enforcement at the incident scene in crowd control and scene integrity.
Each team member is trained in the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control Fire Police Curriculum and are sworn peace officers.
This Team is on call 24 hours a day. The Team is made up of volunteer fire police from throughout Dutchess County.
