The County’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Inclusion Officer (EEOIO), with support from the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, works collaboratively to develop, coordinate and implement initiatives to promote a workforce that reflect the valuable mix of abilities, experiences, cultures and ideas that makes Dutchess County unique.
The EEOIO is also responsible for investigating complaints of alleged job discrimination and providing recommendations for addressing issues, coordinating the County’s 55-a program and requests for accommodations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and chairs the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
February is Black History Month and this year’s theme is African Americans and the Arts. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee encourages you to learn more about the profound influence of African Americans across various art forms, including visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music architecture, culinary arts and more. There are events and activities happening throughout Dutchess County– including historical programs, art exhibits, and more.
The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to promoting cultural awareness and initiatives to increase diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging within our workforce.
