Do you enjoy the Dutchess Rail Trail? So do we! That is why we are working to make the Dutchess Rail Trail even better!
Ever since we first began planning the Dutchess Rail Trail, our goal has been to make a true community park. That is why we held community outreach meetings in each of the towns the DRT passes through, to get feedback and input from residents. That input has been invaluable to us as we have developed the DRT and opened each Phase for use.
You can help make the Dutchess Rail Trail a world-class facility with a monetary donation or with a donation of your time and talent in the following ways:
As an Adopt-A-Trail sponsor, your organization will be responsible for litter clean-up along a designated half mile section of the DRT four times per year. The Dutchess County Department of Public Works will provide safety vests and garbage bags and will remove the collected garbage afterwards. Your sponsorship and efforts will be recognized with signage at each end of the assigned segment.
Adopt-A-Trail is a perfect opportunity for scout or youth organizations, schools, civic or environmental clubs, town committees, local businesses as well as fraternal or religious organizations to make a positive contribution to the health and well-being of our Dutchess County community. Additionally, this project allows your organization to gain name recognition and exposure to thousands of trail visitors.
Adopt-A-Garden Bed Volunteers
Do you have a green thumb? Would you like to put your gardening talent on display for thousands of trail users? Why not Adopt-A-Garden Bed along the Dutchess Rail Trail?
The Adopt-A Garden Bed responsibilities include purchasing appropriate annual or perennial plants, bed preparation and planting, occasional weeding and watering as needed to keep the garden area in good condition.
Signage would be posted at the garden bed to recognize the adopting group.
