Wilcox Memorial Park

Face masks must be worn at pavilions, when outside your campsite area, and any place where social distancing cannot be maintained. Guidelines are posted throughout the park. Some activities may not be available during the COVID-19 pandemic. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding. 

The camping and pavilion season ended on Labor Day.

Wilcox Park operating hours change seasonally. Starting September 8 to October 12 open 7 days a week 8am to 6pm, weekends until 7pm. October 13 to October 31 weekdays 8am to 4pm, weekends until 6pm. November 1 until April 8am to 4pm only 7 days a week. 

During camping season we maintain "Quiet Hours"  in the campground from 10pm - 7am daily. All campers must bring their approved permit with them. WALK-IN CAMPING CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME. Reservations in advance are required. Please call the main park office at 845-298-4600 Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm or explore campground and pavilion availability online. Credit card payments only.

Due to capacity restrictions and enhanced cleaning protocols, shower and/or restroom facilities are limited and may be periodically closed.

The swimming lake is closed for the season due to ongoing water clarity issues.

Wilcox Park is located in the Town of Milan, tucked in northern Dutchess County, this park is a delight to all who venture onto its 615 acres. Formerly the estate and farm of Mrs. Frederick P. Wilcox, its 18th century complex of farm buildings still stand today. This family friendly park boasts two lakes at its center. Popular activities include a 27 hole Disc Golf course, fishing, swimming, paddle and row boats for rent, full size basketball court, bird watching, picnicing, camping, and more than 5 miles of hiking or cross-country skiing. Wilcox Park Trail Map (.pdf)

Pavilions
*Please refer to any active COVID19 NYS PHASE Guidelines in place for occupancy restrictions.  Covered pavilions with picnic table seating. Wilcox Park is a popular place for company picnics, family reunions, birthday parties and other events. Pavilion A features privacy as well as easy access to the horseshoe court, Pavilion B has convenient access to the playground and ball field, Pavilion C overlooks the park and swimming beach and has kitchen facilities and attached bathrooms as well as designated parking, Pavilion D is closest to the swimming and boating lakes.

Camping
Please Note: We cannot take walkin reservations at this time. Paperless payments by credit card only. Advance reservations are required, online or by phone. You must have a permit. Check in by 1:00pm. Permits will be requested by park staff. No outside firewood is permitted. COVID19 NYS PHSE GUIDELINES IN PLACE. Please follow CDC Sanitary Guidelines.

Our small 27-site family campground is open May until Labor Day and feature RV/trailer sites with water and electric hook-ups or tent sites without hookups. Sorry, no tents on RV sites. For the consideration of other campers "QUIET HOURS" are in place from 10pm - 7am. Please be kind, be respectful and be quiet. See our camping schedule. Reservations are made online.

Our group camping area is a rustic site reserved for only organized Scout groups. Please call the park office at 845-298-4601 or 845-758-6100 for more information.

Swimming

The Swimming lake is closed for the season due to water clarity issues. Swimming is strictly prohibited. Dogs are not allowed in any of the water areas.

When the swimming lake is open guests can enjoy the swimming lake and picnic grounds starting in mid-June. See our swimming lake season schedule for when the sand beach will be staffed with lifeguards and the bathhouse will be open. Accessibility features including sand and floating wheelchairs and a wheelchair mat across the sand are available. Sorry, no fishing, no dogs are allowed in the swimming lake. Please fish from the upper pond, no dogs allowed in any waters. No outside boats / kayak please. No outside firewood is allowed.

As part of the COVID-19 guidelines and for the courtesy of other visitors and our staff, face masks must be worn in the areas of our park where social distancing cannot be maintained. All patrons shall practice social distancing.

Hiking and Cross-Country Skiing
Wilcox Park features more than 5 miles of hiking trails including a scenic overlook of Stissing Mountain and the Catskills.

In winter, enjoy cross-country skiing and snow shoeing.
