Municipal Innovation Grant Program

The Municipal Innovation Grant (MIG) program awards funding on a competitive basis to entities who have taxing authority (i.e. cities, towns, villages, school/water/sewer/fire districts). Priority is given to projects that are multi-jurisdictional, leverage other funding sources, dissolve a layer of government and demonstrate savings to taxpayers, a reduction in the property tax levy or a significant increase in the municipal tax base, while providing an equal or better level of service.

Entities other than municipalities that will be the lead applicant must provide a letter of support from the chief elected official from all the local municipalities (City, Town or Village) for which they provide services.

Funding is awarded on an annual basis. We will begin soliciting applications for the next grant cycle in early March.

We are now accepting applications for the 2019 Municipal Innovation Grant (MIG) Program.  Please review the Application Guidance & Instructions for additional information. 

Applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on May 3, 2019. 

The application and all associated forms must be submitted through the Dutchess County Grant Portal
