Washington Street Detour – Effective Monday, August 24, 2026.

Due to construction on Washington Street between Parker Avenue and Marshall Street, Routes C, J, and P will be detoured as follows:

• Southbound Route J and Route P: Travel via North Bridge, Mansion Street, and Civic Center Plaza to reach the HUB.
• Southbound Route J:  Travel via North Bridge, then make a right turn onto Mill Street to serve the Poughkeepsie Train Station.
• Northbound Route J and Route P: No detour is in effect; however, please expect heavy traffic in the area.
• Northbound Route C: Travel via Delafield Street, Hoffman Street, Talmadge Street, and Bain Avenue before continuing northbound on Washington Street.

No Bus Service On Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026.

• We are closed Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. We will resume normal service on Tuesday, September 8 2026.

DCC Students Ride FREE! 

• Dutchess Community College Students carrying a valid 2025/26 Student I.D. will be permitted to ride any of the regularly scheduled routes on Dutchess County Public Transportation for free.

Seatbelts are available on almost all Dutchess County Public Transit (DCPT) buses.

• DCPT believes seatbelts can prevent injuries and encourages their use while riding seated when the bus is in motion.

Dutchess County Public Transit recommends that children under 12 years old be accompanied by an adult.
