Our "Strengthening Families" workshops are a group experience for parents and children to improve communication and family dynamics, and teach teens and preteens to make good choices.

The Department contracts with several agencies to provide intensive home-based case management services for families at risk of placing their children in foster care. We coordinate services for children with emotional or behavioral concerns which put them at risk of out-of-home placement.
Most referrals to the preventative services come from Child Protective Services when there have been indicated reports of child abuse or neglect and in-home services are needed. However, those providers also accept referrals from individuals or agencies in the community, and will conduct assessments to determine whether mandated preventive services are needed.
Only paperwork is accepted on Wednesdays for Temporary Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, and HEAP (No in-person client interviews)
