Published: 9/19/2024

Poughkeepsie … Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services (DCFS) wants to hear from residents about County services for children, families and vulnerable adults.  DCFS will host a public forum to discuss the County’s 2024-2029 Child and Family Services Plan.  The forum will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. in the training room on the Department of Mental Health campus at 230 North Road in Poughkeepsie (accessible through Entrance 1).

The forum will provide information about these DCFS services.  Residents are encouraged to attend to provide feedback and offer ways to improve the delivery and provision of these services.  This feedback is crucial for the development of the 2024-2029 Child and Family Services Plan.

Three discussions, based on specific service areas, will be held at the forum:

  • Child Protective Services, 5 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Family and Children’s Services, including childcare eligibility, preventive service, foster care, youth services and persons in need of supervision (PINS), 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Adult Services, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For those unable to attend, DCFS welcomes written comments. Individuals may submit comments online at dutchessny.gov/dcfscomments, fax comments to (845) 486-3090, or mail them to: DCFS Forum Comments; 60 Market Street; Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
