A lifelong resident of Dutchess County.  Was raised on a large dairy farm, graduated from Dover High School and Dutchess Community College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts.  Attended the University of Tennessee.  Co-Owner of Northern Log and Timber Homes for 46 years.  Married to John Garito,  one son Christopher Garito and a grandson Logan Garito.
