The Government and Services Administration Committee, yesterday, voted down a proposal to override the 2% tax cap levy.

"We need immediate relief from Albany and the unfunded mandates that they pass down to us.  Until then, the taxpayers of Dutchess County can rest assured that exceeding the 2% tax cap will never be an option," Rob Rolison said.

"Unfunded mandates from Albany leave us with a void that we need to fill at the local level.  The budget proposed by County Executive Molinaro makes every effort to responsibly deliver needed services without adding an undue burden on the taxpayers," Rolison continued.

 "As Chairman of the Legislature, I will take every measure to ensure that the taxpayers of Dutchess County are protected," Rolison concluded.
