The Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center is committed to comply with the New York State Freedom of Information Law (F.O.I.L.). This Law requires government agencies to allow the general public access to department records for review and/or copying upon request.
When making a FOIL request to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center, the requestor must reference it as a “FOIL request,” (for example, “I am requesting information regarding/pertaining to...”). You should also include as much information about the document(s) needed such as dates, names and descriptions.
Please be sure to provide your contact information as it corresponds to your preferred method (mailing address or email) for how you would like to receive the records requested. Prior to requesting a record, please be aware many County records may already be available online.
