The Census Bureau released its initial Census 2020 dataset, known as the Redistricting data, in August 2021. This dataset includes totals for population, housing units, and households, along with basic race and voting/non-voting age information. More detailed data will be released in the future – likely early 2022. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
The 2020 Census count was complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic, both because it created challenges for Census staff attempting to collect and process the data, and because in some cases it altered typical residential patterns (on college campuses, for example). The Planning Department has conducted a detailed review of Census results in our area, and have found very few points of concern. We are working with municipalities and the Census Bureau to address those few potential issues.
