Dutchess County is working to create a new model for addressing homelessness, providing critical temporary housing with supportive services in one location to help people overcome the obstacles that have caused them to experience homelessness, while transitioning them into permanent housing.
In April 2024, Dutchess County was awarded a $13,023,795 Homeless Housing and Assistance Program (HHAP) grant from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) to fund the capital costs associated with retrofitting the 26 Oakley Street property in the City of Poughkeepsie.
County Executive Sue Serino has made obtaining and maintaining stable housing a top priority, and Dutchess County is directing more resources to homeless outreach than ever before. Click the image to view and download our helpful Homeless Outreach Information flyer for more information.
This website will continue to be expanded with information and resources for the community to learn about the proposed project.
