This funding can be used by participating municipalities to address infrastructure, housing, and handicapped accessibility improvements throughout Dutchess County. Approximately 15% goes to Human Service program services, and approximately 3% will be used for the Owner-Occupied Property Rehabilitation Program (see Programs for Individuals).

Dutchess County Community Development Block Grant Program-Municipal and Public Service
The Dutchess County Department of Planning & Development (DCDPD) is accepting applications from municipalities and public service agencies for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). The purpose of CDBG funds is to benefit low-and-moderate-income people by addressing needs such as infrastructure, economic development, public facilities, housing rehabilitation, and community needs. CDBG application instructions and guidance documents are available on the DCDPD webpage:. The application deadline is February 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. for CDBG Public Service applications and March 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. for CDBG Municipal applications. An in-person and virtual public hearing/workshop to review the application process will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 85 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 107, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
