The Special Populations Workgroup works directly with special populations consultant, Alternative Solutions Associates, Inc. (ASAI), to determine the best ways to address the needs of Dutchess County’s special inmate populations. Input and guidance from this workgroup and the consultant will contribute to the design of the DCJTC.
The Special Populations Workgroup (SPW) was created to enlist individuals with specific skill sets, professional expertise and involvement in the criminal justice system to provide assistance to ASAI as they study programmatic opportunities for inmates that impact the jail. Work sessions will address complex issues and obstacles, review sensitive materials, and learn from individuals in the jail and the criminal justice system. Meetings are confidential in order to provide opportunities for those who have been in the criminal justice system to be open and candid.
This workgroup is a subcommittee of the Dutchess County Criminal Justice Council and is chaired by Jonathan Heller, Pre-Trial Supervisor, Dutchess County Office of Probation & Community Corrections.
